If a CO alarm sounds, the customer should get everyone outside to fresh air and call 911 from outside. Do not go back in. Once they are safe, they call the propane company so a qualified person can check the appliances. PERC's consumer safety guidance is the same across the U.S. states we write for: leave, then get help. Your office needs that sequence in writing, not a script someone invents at 2 a.m.
Why does the office need this in the book?
Because the after-hours person still has to say the same thing at 2 a.m. Put the customer instruction in the Policies and Procedures book with your after-hours number on it. See Policies and Procedures and what causes carbon monoxide from a propane appliance.
Is this tank monitoring?
No. Propane Safety Pro is operator-facing audit and insurability work — manuals, records, and the written procedure. It is not tank monitoring and it does not read gallons.
Next step: call 610-228-0887 and we will put that customer instruction in the Policies and Procedures book with your after-hours number on it.
