What's changing with CETP and PEP
PERC is retiring CETP. The replacement is the PERC Education Program — PEP — rolling out since 2025.
Here is the part that matters: your existing CETP completions are still good. They stay on your PERC Learning Center transcript. Nothing expired the day PEP started.
The headache is downstream. Plenty of state LP-gas licensing rules still name CETP outright. Pennsylvania, for one, requires CETP training of LP-Gas Technician License applicants. Few states have said in writing yet that PEP satisfies the same rule. Your insurer and your inspector still have CETP in the file.
One real clock: if a man passed the CETP written exam but never finished the skills assessment, PAPGA's 2025 PEP FAQs give him 12 months from the exam date to finish it.
Rules move. Confirm anything state-specific with your state's regulator before you act on it.
