Florida requires training for all LP-gas employees, whether or not they are qualifiers. FDACS says refresher training must occur every three years, with records kept on file. Qualifiers and master qualifiers have separate state exams and renewal rules. Keep those duties apart when you plan classes and check each person's records.
Keep two deadlines in view
The FDACS training page says qualifier certificates expire three years after issue. Renewal requires sixteen approved continuing-education hours. The page also lists three-year renewal and sixteen credits for master qualifiers. A class record does not replace the state exam or renewal.
Employer-provided continuing education has its own records rule. Under Rule 5J-20.060, those records must stay at the employee's work location for three years. FDACS can ask to inspect them.
Start with your staff list
Mark who needs employee refresher training and who also holds a qualifier credential. Check both dates. This is a suggested office check, not a state form.
Before you book a class, check that FDACS accepts it for the credential being renewed. Ask what work the class covers. Do not assume a CETP or PEP transcript proves that every state step is complete.
Where do CETP and PEP fit?
PERC is moving CETP content into PEP learning paths. Check the path for the work your crew does. For more context, see CETP and PEP and how often CETP training is required.
Put the office policy in writing
Once you know the training needed, put your office process in writing. State who checks due dates and where staff keep the records. See the Policies & Procedures manual. A manual does not replace training, practical skills or required credentials.
